"Scratching"

The fight against inner anxiety and fears is often an overwhelming battle. People often find themselves cornered by the thoughts that roam in his or her mind. In the piece, I tried to translate the chaotic discord of a person’s thoughts through winding and twisting shapes and a busy color scheme. In the bottom left corner, there is a small figure. All possibilities seem useless to the figure as she is trapped under all the commotion above. If the out shapes above are representative of her thoughts, her feelings and emotions have jumbled into a maze that the figure is unable to escape. With this going on in the mind, the figure wants to get rid of it all, but she can’t move on. She just keeps scratching at her mind to find stability in the mess. I feel as though in modern media, there is a lot of emphasis put on finding the right state of mind. It’s hard to achieve this balance, which leaves a lot of sensitivity in the person, and leaves them vulnerable when others are ignorant. I feel like the misunderstanding of people and isolation of people causes the main roots of problems today.
